For the first time, the Federated Church will be participating in Valley Gives Day on May 1. On this special day, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, nonprofits all over the Pioneer Valley raise money online.
Of course, we will be happy if you want to give a little something extra on this day—but we know that most of you already give quite a bit to the church. What we’re really hoping is that you’ll share this opportunity for giving with your friends. Many people in the area don’t know about the work our church does in the community: Good Neighbors; the Minister’s Discretionary Fund; fundraising events like the Chicken Barbecue and Holiday Village, which provide a time for visiting as well as for donating; the music lessons that take place in the church each week for children in the community; and our partnership with Mohawk Trail Concerts, which brings world-class chamber music to our corner of the world.
Valley Gives offers a chance to spread the news about our church’s vital role in the community. Please share the link below with friends, along with a statement about what YOU see as the most important community work of the church. No one has to give a lot; there are special monetary prizes to organizations just for boosting participation in the fundraiser.
(By the way, if you or your friends won’t be online on May 1, it is possible to schedule a donation in advance.)
Let’s make our inaugural Valley Gives fun and rewarding.
