We will discuss ‘Half Broke Horses’ by Jeannette Walls.  Walls records the story of her grandmother’s life in the American Southwest during the first half of the 20th century.  A remarkable woman, Lily Casey Smith “survived tornadoes, droughts, floods, the Great Depression, and personal tragedy.  She bristled at all kinds of prejudice against women, Native Americans, and anyone else who didn’t fit the mold”,  As one critic wrote, “Jeannette Walls is Laura Ingalls Wilder for adults.”  Everyone is invited to join us for a lively discussion.
