Our book will be Angle of Repose by Pulitzer Prize winner Wallace Stegner.  In the novel, Lyman Ward, a retired history professor, now confined to a wheelchair, decides to write the biography of his grandmother, “an elegant and headstrong artist and pioneer who journeys with her husband to the American West in the late 19th century”.  This is a long book; you might want to start early.
